Woven’s Mission : Building the Future Fabric of Life in a City
Toyota has embarked on an effort to explore the future of connected cities with its Woven project concept city outside of Tokyo. They have begun conducting trials for new systems starting at Susono by Mt. Fuji. The Woven city project captures the essence of Toyota’s legacy in the form of a story. The story of a young man who wanted to help his mother live a better life, and make her job easier.
This concept city has replaced outdated transportation modes with new mobility principles that are dynamic, designed to innovate and far beyond anything we have seen until now.
Arene Software Platform at the Heart of it All
Expected to be ready in 2025 and deployed by 2026, the Arene software platform will enable Toyotas next gen BEV. Beyond Arene, Woven by Toyota is also driving software innovation across a range of important areas, including leading Toyota’s development of automated driving technologies. This includes next generation Automated Driving and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, as well as the underlying geospatial intelligence technology that enables safe and reliable decision-making by vehicle systems.
Plotting a vision for the future and taking action on moving it forward. It’s exciting to see that the city of the future is becoming a reality. As a kid, probably in about the 3rd grade I recall being asked to draw a picture of a world we imagined 20 years into the future. Well, it’s been a little longer than that but Woven very much resembles that city from my childhood’s imagination.
